Lean Six Sigma

Course Summary:

Lean Six Sigma is a methodological practise designed to reduce waste and, as a consequence, enhance the company’s performance.

The system focuses on eight key areas, usually in need of streamlining:

  • Overproduction

  • Waiting

  • Defects

  • Motion

  • Inventory

  • Transportation

  • Non-Utilized Talent

  • Extra Processing

For an effective application of Lean Six Sigma’s principles; team participation is necessary. Consequently, the course also teaches effective project management strategies to achieve this.

Candidates undertaking Lean Six Sigma qualifications are assessed through a coloured-belt grading system, rather like that of martial arts.

Training

We believe one of the best methods of learning is through a combination of classroom-based learning and practical tasks designed for you to apply your knowledge and test your understanding. Whilst in the classroom, you can expect to receive high quality tuition from one of our experienced tutors. Rather than simply sitting and writing, the course encourages candidates to converse with one another by working in smaller subgroups when working on set tasks.

Who is this course suitable for?

This certificate would benefit project managers looking to gain knowledge of effective people management and who are looking to make processes within their project more efficient. Such training is also beneficial for those who have a fundamental role in their company’s assignment and who wish to gain further experience of the techniques that have been proven to aid project managers in their role.

Benefits

Why should I take a Lean Six Sigma qualification?

Lean Six Sigma’s recognised qualifications signal a depth of knowledge and understanding to potential employers. Companies look for approved methods that ensure the smooth running of their processes; for this reason, many will opt to offer Lean Six Sigma as a training course for employees to improve their skill set. Employee motivation, morale and productivity has a direct correlation with the level of competency and leadership demonstrated by their superiors.

What jobs would complement this qualification?

Owing to there being incremental stages in Lean Six Sigma’s qualifications; the job roles available will be dependent on the level of experience obtained in this area.

Business Process Improvement Managers for example, are usually in possession of the Black Belt certificate, whereas a Financial Services Operations Consultant is more likely to be of a Green belt standard. The higher the standard achieved, the greater the chance of receiving a promotion and a job role that entails more responsibility.
